12th Nordic Conference on Philosophical Practice – Peace and Possibilities

Reykjavík, May 23 – 24, 2026

Dear Colleagues and Philosophical Practitioners

The Society of Philosophy Teachers in Iceland welcomes you to the 12th Nordic Conference on Philosophical Practice.

Join us in Reykjavík where we will explore how philosophical practice can contribute to a peaceful world.

Conference symbol:
The questioning flower. A big question is made of many smaller ones within it.
Made by philosopher / artist Ingimar Ó. Waage and his daughter Sólrún Ylfa Ingimarsdóttir, an artist and a musician.

PEACE & POSSIBILITIES
For peace to become a reality, we must first be able to imagine it. This conference will dive into the questions surrounding peace:

  • How can philosophy contribute to peace between nations and people?
  • What is the role of philosophical practice in fostering inner peace and resilience?
  • How can we apply philosophical methods to create possibilities for a more harmonious future for young people and society at large?
